URBAN SYMMETRIES

"Sound Movement I" (2020)

"I started to take pictures while walking in Lisbon. It became an habit to shoot city images. After a few months I came across a conductive line in the photos, common motives, an aesthetic concept. The turning point in this work happened when I discovered that from the image of a city shape I could create new objects, playing with their fractal patterns, based on their axis of symmetry. I repeated this process until exhaustion, the objects became patterns and the patterns became solid colors that contain the creative process. The next step was to work on sound and movement, with the aim of bringing these utopian forms to life. This colminated on the first experimentation, «Urban Symmetry - Sound / Movement 1». ”
